Recently Louisianans voted Bobby Jindal as our Governor. Only four years ago he ran against Kathleen Blanco and lost due to some deep-rooted racism (Jindal is Indian) and other backwards thinking.

Once the state (and nation and world) saw how incompetent Blanco was with Katrina in 2005, most citizens in Louisiana realized it was time to elect someone new, someone with fresh ideas and someone who could and would really attack the corruption in Louisiana state politics. Jindal enters the Governor Mansion saying he will fight for ethics reform - which includes Legislators having to stop receiving free National Championship football tickets among other larger things. And he plans to be transparent and straighten out the long crooked ways of the way things work here. Will he become Louisiana's model citizen? We'll have to wait and see.

Let's hope so.
